Do not draw from photos
Drawing from photos is a classic beginners’ mistake which I believe everyone has tried once or twice during their early carreer as an artist ( including the author) therefore, this is a sort of an insider info for everyone who ever wants to apply for stuying at a higher degree arts school or university. Never ever bring drawings from photos to your application exam.
Draw objects with are in front of you, or simply use them as a base for creating something bigger out of your imagination. It’s no wonder that all the art schools and art courses use objects and live models. This is by far the most effective and fruitful way for everyone to learn about object and subject anatomy, the way the light reflect on all sorts of different textures, all the angles, the shadows and everything else that a drawing or a painting is to reflect. This is why you sould avoid drawing from photos, no matter how tempting it is, as it intitally only gives back half of the reality, which would make your own work look cheap in the end
